The funded participation (consortium) agreement provides for the pooling of resourses provided by Belgazprombank, Gazprombank (Switzerland) Ltd and other foreign investors in order to participate in the funding of Belarusian companies. Purposes for which the loans can be provided are not limited and include, for instance, the financing of working capital, investment projects and trade financing.
The funded participation involving European investors’ funds attracted into the economy of Belarus is a new instrument for Belgazprombank and for the Belarusian financial sector generally, Belgazprombank reported. The launch of the funded participation allows Belgazprombank to enhance support it provides to Belarusian businesses and to offer them more attractive loans. Also it is a good opportunity for the Belgazprombank’s customers to start creating their international credit history and to gain a unique experience in project implementation in accordance with the requirements of European financial institutions’ credit expertise.
The consortium will allow Belgazprombank in cooperation with foreign investors to finance large investment projects. In particular cases loan amounts to Belarusian entities can exceed EUR 100 million. In the framework of the consortium Belgazprombank will also continue to support its key clientele – small and medium enterprises in Belarus.
