Belgazprombank became the first bank in Belarus which started issuing cards of international payment system UnionPay. This was announced at the press-conference held on February 21, 2019 at the gallery Art-Belarus, which was attended by the Main Representative of UnionPay International in Russia and Belarus Sasha Fanj, the Deputy Chairman of the Managing Board of Belgazprombank Kiryl Badzei and the Director of Retail Business Development and Support Department Dmitry Furs.
- The launch of issue laid the basis for the development of UnionPay brand in Belarus. This will allow us to build partnership, to ensure comfort and security for day-to-day transactions with UnionPay cards within the country and abroad. UnionPay has cooperated with Belgazprombank since 2011. During this time the acceptance of cards has been ensured in more than 200 ATMs and 6 thousands terminals. And now is the time for the issuing project. We hope that the results of joint work will be notable soon and the number of cards issued in Belarus will come to dozens of thousands. Your country is a very important market for us. China and Belarus has friendly ties, good political and economic relations. Dmirty Furs highlighted peculiar features and advantages of UnionPay. He pointed out that holders of UnionPay cards will receive access to privileges and discounts that UnionPay offers globally. Also Belgazprombank provides the system of loyalty for its customers. These products are included in packages for legal entities within payroll projects, and the employees of a company can tap into them by receiving an additional card besides the already existing payroll card.

At present the international payment system UnionPay takes the first place in the world by issue of cards enjoying more than 7 bln cards in its portfolio which are accepted in 174 countries around the world. Such growth has been supported through the issue of UnionPay cards not only by banks of China, but also by banks in other countries. The UnionPay cards issued by Belgazprombank will allow their holders making a tourist or business trip to make payments easily not only in China but also in any other location of the world. This service is getting more and more popular in the context of the rapid growth of cooperation between Belarus and China in the sphere of economy, education and tourism with the fast developing industrial park "Great Stone" being the most prominent example. Today the bank's customers can choose the option which is more suitable for them from two contactless cards using QuickPaSS technology – traditional UnionPay Classic or premium UnionPay Platinum – denominated in one of four offered currencies – Belarusian rubles, Russian rubles, US Dollars or Euros. The payment card UnionPay can be issued for the bank's customer as debit card or additional card to the payroll account. Since 2011 Belgazprombank has participated in the international payment system UnionPay as an acquiring bank servicing and accepting UnionPay cards. Therefore, the launch of issue by Belgazprombank of UnionPay cards became a new milestone in the history of cooperation between Belgazprombank and international payment system UnionPay. The strategic goal of Belgazprombank is to strengthen its leading positions in the banking system by means of introducing new technologies in all spheres of banking activities and maintaining appropriate level of security and effectiveness. The partnership with the international payment system UnionPay has became one of the stages of the Belgazprombank's long-term strategy for development.
Business executives, journalists and bloggers were among the first holders of UnionPay cards issued by Belgazprombank.
An exhibition "Silence Soothing to Dreams" of the artist Alena Andryuschenko, who is the permanent participant of the Autumn Saloon with Belgazprombank, has been held in the gallery Art-Belarus starting from February 21, 2019.
