Belgazprombank and Development Bank to further support small and medium-sized enterprises

Since 21 January 2021 Belgazprombank has resumed financing small and medium-sized enterprises in the framework of the Program of financial support to small and medium-sized enterprises implemented by the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus (hereinafter – the Program).

Within the Program in 2021 Belgazprombank will render financial support to micro-, small and medium-sized enterprises as well as individual entrepreneurs realizing projects in various economic sectors in the Republic of Belarus. The Belgazprombank’s customers can receive long-term funding in Belarusian rubles for the purchase (reconstruction, modernization, construction, overhaul) of fixed assets and (or) intangible assets (franchise) for production activities, trading activities or services, as well as for the financing of current activities. 

This year the terms of financial support within a number of credit products of the Program have become even more attractive. The cost of resources in national currency for small and medium-sized enterprises starts at 6.38% per annum. Belgazprombank founded in 1990 is controlled by the Gazprom Group and occupies a leading position in lending to the private sector of the Belarusian economy, in particular to small and medium-sized enterprises. Belgazprombank has regularly won «The best entrepreneur» award in the nomination «The Best bank for providing services to entrepreneurs». Since the launch of the program of providing support to small and medium-sized enterprises Belgazprombank has annually been recognized as one of the best partners of JSC «Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus». 

JSC «Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus» is a specialized financial institution founded by the Council of Ministers and the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus. The main objective of the Development Bank is the elaboration of financing system for government programs, as well as credit support to Belarusian export, small and medium-sized entrepreneurship. The program of providing support to small and medium-sized enterprises has been implemented by the Development Bank since August 2014. The two-level system of the program involves the allocation of resources by the Development Bank through partner banks and leasing organizations to finance eligible projects of small and medium-sized enterprises. 

The major shareholders of Belgazprombank, PJSC Gazprom and Bank GPB (JSC), extended the subordinated loan provided in equal shares in the total amount of RUB 4.96 bn.

On May 25, 2021 Fitch Ratings affirmed Belgazprombank's Long-Term Issuer Default Rating (IDR) at “B” with Negative Outlook, which is the highest rating possible for Belarusian issuers capped by the country ceiling.

The Annual General Shareholders Meeting of Belgazprombank was held on 30 March 2020 in Minsk using a video conference system.

Bank GPB (JSC) issued a press release following the visit of Gulnara Khaidarshina, Deputy Head of Research Department, to the Republic of Belarus. The release confirms a positive view on economic recovery of Belarus:

Based on performance in January-February 2021, Belgazprombank gained profit of BYN 17.4 mln, which is 4.6 times higher than for the same period of 2020.

Belgazprombank and Bank GPB (JSC) signed the agreement on providing EUR 60 million long-term loan facility in favor of Belgazprombank. The attracted funds will be used to finance the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Republic of Belarus.

Fitch Ratings has affirmed Belgazprombank's ratings at the highest level possible for Belarusian issuers at present capped by the country ceiling - Long-Term Issuer Default Rating (IDR) at “B”, Negative Outlook.

By the decision of the Board of Directors of Belgazprombank of 15 January 2021 Nadzeya Yermakova was appointed as the Chairman of the Management Board of Belgazprombank starting from 18 January 2021.
